The inspiration behind VacuumGlow is the concept of continuity. The design team, led by Vadim Garnaev, sought to create a quality clock that respects vintage aesthetics while incorporating essential modern features. The result is a unique and upmarket clock that showcases the inspiring aesthetics of time.
VacuumGlow stands out for its organic combination of vintage and modern elements. The clock is based on rare lamps, last produced in the late 1970s, which naturally complement the modern casing. The soft glow of the indicators and the warm, delicate light provided by the specially processed glass panel balance the solid case, creating a visually pleasing and unique piece.
The clock's case, machine-cut from aluminum and painted using micro-arc oxidation technology, is simple and understated. This technology not only protects the metal from corrosion but also ensures a pleasant tactile surface. The clock also features decorative lighting, which can be adjusted to any color using a mobile app, adding a touch of personalization to the design.
Despite its vintage-inspired design, VacuumGlow is equipped with modern features for convenience and precision. It includes GPS for automatic time correction and can be controlled via a smartphone app using Bluetooth 4.0. The clock also features a light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment, a temperature sensor for electronics control, and a fuse to protect against voltage swings.
The creation of VacuumGlow was a significant challenge for the design team. They aimed to launch the mass production of original nixie tube clocks, a pioneering project that required careful selection of rare nixie tubes and meticulous design planning. Despite the challenges, the team successfully brought their vision to life, creating a clock that conveys their unique idea of time.
VacuumGlow is more than just a clock. It is a statement piece that challenges the need for smart gadgets and emphasizes the beauty of time. It is a testament to the design team's creativity and dedication, a clock that combines smooth lines and a concise shape to create a unique and timeless piece of art.
